If someone stopped you on the street and asked you, “Who is Jesus?” what would you say?  How about your kids?  How would they answer that question?

While traveling in Philippi, Jesus privately asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” They answered with a variety of popularly held opinions. Jesus responded pointedly, “But what about you? Who do you say I am?” It was then that Peter declared, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

In the book of John, the Lord Jesus reveals who he is by describing himself in 7 terms his listeners could easily understand, giving profound meaning to his claim to be the Christ, the Son of God. These are commonly referred to as “The Seven ‘I AM’s of Jesus.”

Each of the 7 “I Am” verses is short, easy to memorize, and full of rich truth about who Jesus is and who he offers to be for each of us personally. (Remember: In the Old Testament, God revealed his name to Moses as—“I AM WHO I AM.”)

As you (and your children) learn these 7 verses, you’ll be equipped to answer who Jesus is for yourselves – and share the truth about who He is with others!
